Here is a new feature on The Beautiful Game; the PL Team of the Week as agreed by both authors. This will be posted after every set of Matchdays.
Formation 3-4-1-2
GK- Michel Vorm- Swansea's Dutch stopper kept out many QPR chances that could have changed a 5-0 thrashing.
LCB- Phil Jagielka- Everton's unsung hero from the win over Manchester United, he snuffed out any threat around the box and kept Rooney and co. quiet.
CB- Brede Hangeland- In this man, Fulham have a rock at the back who is also a threat in the air. He anchored their 5-0 thrashing of Norwich.
RCB- Branislav Ivanovic- The Chelsea defender repaid the debt owed after his sending off in the Charity Shield by scoring a goal in their 2-0 win over Wigan, while also keeping a clean sheet.
LM- Eden Hazard- Chelsea's new boy made the dream start, with two assists in the opening 10 minutes of the game. He may be starting to justify his pricey transfer.
CM- Santi Cazorla- Arsenal look to hae signed a gem with this little fella, he plays the game like a typical Spaniard and settled into the PL very well.
CM- Marouane Fellaini- He did very little wrong. Everton's floppy haired fan favourite won every header he contested and scored the match winning goal. Nemanja Vidic was the only defender to get near him.
RM- Nathan Dyer- A livewire in the midfield, he scored two and had a hand in two more goals as Swansea routed QPR away from home.
CF- Michu- Another star of the QPR hammering, Swansea's new Spanish talent waltzed into the PL and straight to the top of the scoring table with two well taken goals.
ST- Mladen Petric- Like Michu, he came in from a foreign land, and made an immediate impact, scoring two and making a nuisance of himself throughout the game. This could be a good signing from Martin Jol.
ST- Demba Ba- After enduring what was by his standards, a barren spell at the end of last season, Ba was back with a bang on Saturday evening as he fired Newcastle halfway to a win over fellow Champions League contenders Tottenham.
Subs- De Gea, Ridgewell, De Guzman, Gervinho, Nasri, Kagawa, Lambert.
Manager- Nigel Adkins
