Julio Cesar and Giampaolo Pazzini

Antonio Cassano
With the overhaul at Milan, another player rumoured to be thinking of a move away is Cassano. He is likely to wish to remain in Italy however could leave for Stadium rivals Inter or former club Sampdoria.
Demba Ba
Some reports recently claimed that Russian club Rubin Kazan had triggered the release claue in his contract after making a bid, however, little news has been heard since.
Joe Allen
Despite Brendan Rodgers verbally agreeing not to targt players from his former club, it looks as if Welshman Allen could move to Anfield this Summer, with a deal possibly being done after the player has finished his participation in the Olympics.
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa
Montpellier's young centre-back has been the subject of an offer from AC Milan in the region of 7million Euros. Milan president Adriano Galliani has confirmed the offer and says a deal going through would be "a matter of money".
Santi Cazorla
Malaga's diminutive midfielder emerged as a target for Arsenal this week. The Guardian claims that, with the financial difficulties at the Spanish club, they will look to offload the Spaniard at around £18million.
Nuri Sahin
Jose Mourinho has admitted it is possible that the midfielder coul leave the Bernabeu this Summer, whether it be on loan or a permanent deal. A couple of Premier League clubs have been mentioned as suitors with Tottenham being one.
Kaka
The Brazilian is expected to leave Real Madrid this Summer and with AC Milan looking to possibly repatriate ther former hero, a deal is looking more and more likely.

Player Watch - Alphonse Areola
So much has been made of the extortionate pockets of cash that Paris Saint Germain have been shelling out for numerous 'World class' players. But maybe we nee to look to someone already with the club to find a potential future star.
Coming up through the ranks of the PSG system and finding himself in the first team squad, Alphonse Areola is a name that brings with it, little information. Infact, he doesn't even have his own Wikipedia page!
Born in Paris, he is eligible to play for both France and the Phileppines due to his family origins, and has, in the past, expressed an interest in representing the Azkals.
This came as a surprise, as the 19 year old has a fantastic future. Standing at 6 ft 4 and already an accomplished shot stopper, Areola has represented France from U16 to U19 level, recently being the starting Goalkeeper for France's U19 European Championship campaign in Estonia. With time, he will grow into a potentially World class Goalkeeper. He currently serves as the backup at PSG to the Italian international No.1 Salvatore Sirigu, however, could see more oportunities for game time this season due to the team's involvement in European Competition and therefore, the possible need for resting of players.
It is this potential that has seen him linked with some of Europe's top clubs. Last Summer, some news sites reported that Manchester United and Tottenham were considering offering him a contract.
We think, if he is managed and coached correctly, he could develop in to a real player to watch and could make his name around the World. Look out for him making some appearances for PSG this season as he attempts to establish himself as a 1st team member.

Premier League 2012/13
A fantastic season ended just a couple of months ago with the rising star of Manchester City claiming their first Premier League title.
Time has flown by, and soon, it will be time to do it all again. This season, in our opinion, has the potential to be the closest, and most exciting to date.
Over the next few weeks, we will preview the new Premier League season team by team and attempt to come to a conclusion...Who will triumph in this clash of the titans in such a golden year for British sport?

Olympics - Group Stage Preview
After months of build up and preparation, the Olympics of London 2012 have arrived. Thousands upon thousands of people will arrive in London over the coming week in anticipation for what is possibly the greatest collection of athletes ever seen. Among this, hundreds of young future footballing stars will come to showcase their talents in a bid for a medal.
There are a few stipulations with regard to the age of the squad players. The players selected must be under the age of 23, with three players over that age allowed to supplement the young squad. Teams will play in Groups of 4 with the top two in each Group progressing to the Quarter Finals. The losing team in each Semi-Final will play a 'Bronze Medal Match' to finalise the medal positions.
Venues for the matches themselves are Wembley Stadium, Old Trafford, The Sports Direct Arena, Hampden Park and the City of Coventry Stadium. Therefore, the reach of this tournament spread across a great deal of Britain.
The Groups were drawn as shown:
Group A - Great Britain, Senegal, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay
Group B - Mexico, S.Korea, Gabon, Switzerland
Group C - Brazil, Egypt, Belarus, New Zealand
Group D - Spain, Japan, Honduras, Morocco
We kick off our preview of the Olympic Football with the one all the British public are most interested in, Group A!
The four teams in Group A cover the globe, the cultures and footballing styles are vastly different and will be sure to combine to form a competitive group.

GB - J.Butland, J.Steele, A.McCarthy, N.Taylor, R.Bertrand, S.Caulker, C.Dawson, J.Tomkins, M.Richards, D.Rose, R.Bennett, T.Cleverley, J.Allen, R.Giggs, J.Cork, A.Ramsey, S.Sinclair, A.Johnson, D.Sturridge, C.Bellamy, M.Sordell, J.Rhodes

Competing at their first tournament as 'Team GB' since 1960, they could find the Group relatively tough. With a squad lacking experience outside of the three over-age players added Scotland and Ireland's reluctance to let their players take part, the players selected will have to gel together and battle well against some physical and attacking teams. Key players for Stuart Pearce will be Micah Richards, Ryan Giggs and Daniel Sturridge.
The Lionceaux will be competing at their first Olympics however, a squad with physicality and a bit of core experience may prove a threat. Despite this, they could easily have been stronger, had European clubs allowed players to be released for duty. Key players will be Ousmane Mane, Kalidou Yero, Mame Diame and Abdoulaye Sane.
Having competed in every qualifying stage, this is the UAE's first chance at the Olympics. They are likely to be a stubborn side that are hard to break down. In terms of threats, look out for Hamdan Al Kamali and Omar Abdulrahman.
Uruguay are a successful Olympic football team, winning the tournament on a couple of occasions, however, they have not competed since 1928. This time around, Los Charruas have a squad with high quality. Look out for Diego Polenta, Nicolas Lodeiro, Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez. They will be likely to fight it out with Team GB for the the top of the table.
Mexico - J.Corona, A.Rodriguez, L.Sanchez, I.Jimenez, C.Salcido, H.Mier, D.Chavez, D.Reyes, N.Vidrio, M.Ponce, N.Araujo, H.Herrera, J.Cortes, M.Fabian, J.Aquino, J.Enriquez, C.Ramirez, J.Hernandez, O.Peralta, G.Dos Santos, R.Jimenez, A.Pulido
South Korea - JS Ryong, LB Young, KY Kwang, OJ Suk, YS Young, KY Kwon, JD Ho, KK Hee, HS Ho, KC Soo, KS Yeung, KB Kyung, BS Dong, NT Hee, KM Woo, YI Lok, KJ Cheol, PJ Woo, HK Young, JD Won, PC Young, KH Sung
Gabon - D.Ovono, N.Moundounga, A.Mezui, M.Dinda, S.Nzambe, B.Ecuele, R.Ebanega, E.Ndong, F.Engongah, A.Ndombou, L.Madinga, M.Tandjigora, M.Boussoughou, A.Biyogho, H.Ndong, J.Obiang, S.Mbingui, A.Nono, P.Aubameyang, A.Meye, R.Ntsitsigui, L.Yakouya
Switzerland - D.Benaglio, B.Siegrist, R.Buerki, F.Daprela, F.Affolter, R.Rodriguez, T.Klose, F.Schar, M.Morganella, S.Widmer, X.Hochstrasser, O.Buff, A.Wiss, A.Abrashi, F.Frei, P.Kasami, V.Basha, I.Emeghara, A.Mehmedi, J.Drmic, S.Zuber, H.Seferovic
Mexico have brought with them a decent looking squad. They will be likely to aim to build on their U-17 Championship win of 2011 and their third place finish at the U-20 Championship of the same year. In a fairly even group, they will need to be patient in order to progress, look out for Diego Reyes, Marco Fabian and Giovani dos Santos.
Having won the U-20 Championships in 2009, those players have mostly moved on to this age group and level, therefore South Korea have experience as a team and their determination will be vital. However, they lack any real strike force and so could struggle to clinically finish off chances. Key players for them will be Kim Bo Kyung and Koo Ja Cheol.
Gabon are on debut at the Olympics. However, they come to the tournament having won the African qualifying round, beating the favourites for that crown, Morocco. They will play with pride and determination, shown by their endeavours at the latest African Nations Cup. Their star player, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will provide their greatest threat if he plays. Other key players include Andre Biyogho of Bordeaux and Emmanuel Ndong.
Finally, Switzerland have been hampered by Bayern Munich's refusal to release star man Xherdan Shaqiri. They are competing at their first Olympics in 84 years and had a fair battle on their hands in order to qualify for the tournament. After winning the U-17 World Cup in 2009, the core of that team have now moved on, and are a key part of this squad. Diego Benaglio will bring experience between the posts and keep an eye on Oliver Buff, Pajtim Kasami and Ricardo Rodriguez.
Brazil - R.Cabral, Neto, Gabriel, Rafael da Silva, T.Silva, Marcelo, B.Uvini, Juan, Danilo, Marquinhos, A.Sandro, Sandro, L.Moura, Romulo, Oscar, Ganso, Giuliano, Casemiro, A.Pato, Neymar, L.Damiao, Hulk
Egypt - A.Elshenawi, M.Bassam, A.Lotfi, M.Eldin, A.Fathy, O.Gaber, A.Hegazi, A.Fathi, E.Ramadan, S.Saad, S.Soliman, S.Ahmed, S.Gomaa, H.Hassan, M.El Neny, M.Sobhi, M.Aboutrika, M.Mohsen, E.Meteab, M.Salah, A.Magdy, A.Bekhit
Belarus - A.Gutor, A.Shcerbakov, F.Voytekhovich, I.Kuzmenok, S.Politevich, A.Gavrilovich, M.Vitus, A.Kozlov, D.Polyakov, O.Veretilo, V.Gaiduchik, S.Dragun, D.Baga, R.Bressan, I.Aleksievich, A.Solovei, M.Gordeichuk, S.Kornilenko, V.Khvashchinsky, A.Voronkov, E.Zubovich, M.Skavysh
New Zealand - J.Gleeson, M.O'Keeffe, S.Basalaj, I.Hogg, T.Myers, T.Smith, R.Nelsen, A.Thomas, J.Musa, M.Eagar, L.Rowe, T.Payne, K.Barbarouses, M.McGlinchey, A.Feneridis, C.Howieson, A.McGeorge, C.Lindsay, S.Smeltz, C.Wood, M.Rojas, D.Lucas
It is tough to see beyond one team for qualification from Group C. Brazil have tournament experience and their squad full of world class young talent should outclass their opposition.
The sheer wealth of talent in the Brazil squad is unrivalled. This fact can be shown by noticing that 8 of the 22 man squad are attracting interest from Premier League and La Liga clubs. Their defence, midfield and attack are all formidable and at the U-23 level, they are the only team at the Olympics to have played as their actual national team in recent times. Key players for the Auriverde are tough to pick out, however the name that attracts the most attention has to be the Santos star, Neymar. Leandro Damiao is likely to provide service to Neymar aswell as additional goal threat and should he play, Lucas Moura, the Manchester United target, will mean a huge threat for the opposition with his dribbling skills.
In the past, Egypt have played in 10 Olympic tournaments, only getting past the Group stage in 4. They got through qualification relatively easily, only losing to Morocco, however will probably find the game against Brazil too tough and will be tested by Belarus. Key players for Egypt will be Ahmed El Shenawi and Mohamed El Neny.
Belarus are competing at their first major tournament as a nation after the collapse of the Soviet Union. They have recently surprised a few by finishing in third place at the U-21 Championships, therefore their youthful talent is noticeable. Their key player will be Andrei Voronkov, their talisman striker.
Finally, New Zealand will probably find the tournament tough. Their only previous appearance at the Olympics was in Beijing 4 years ago, where Brazil humbled them 5-0. The Oly White's current crop of players has a good amount of flair and creativity. Key players for them will be the Englishbased Tommy Smith and Chris Wood, Marco Rojas and their main star Kosta Barbarouses
Spain - D.De Gea, J.Robles, D.Marino, J.Alba, C.Azpilicueta, A.Botia, V.Ruiz, A.Dominguez, I.Martinez, J.Martinez, A.Illarramendi, M.Montoya, C.Tello, A.Herrera, Isco, Koke, J.Mata, O.Romeu, A.Lopez, I.Muniain, Rodrigo, A.Vazquez
Japan - S.Gonda, S.Ando, A.Hayashi, Y.Tokunaga, H.Sakai, M.Yoshida, K.Yamamura, G.Sakai, D.Suzuki, K.Oiwa, T.Ogihara, T.Muramatsu, K.Higashi, T.Usami, H.Yamaguchi, H.Kiyotake, T.Yonemoto, Y.Otsu, K.Sugimoto, K.Nagai, M.Saito, R.Yamazaki
Honduras - J.Mendoza, F.Reyes, M.Licona, W.Crisanto, M.Figueroa, H.Colon, V.Velasquez, J.Leveron, E.Alvarado, A.Peralta, M.Martinez, A.Mejia, A.Lopez, O.Peralta, A.Najar, R.Espinoza, L.Garrido, W.Fuentes, A.Lozano, J.Bengtson, E.Hernandez, R.Quioto
Morocco - M.Amsif, Y.Bounou, Y.El Houasli, A.Noussir, M.Abarhoun, A.El Kaoutari, Z.Bergdich, Z.Feddal, Y.Jebbour, E.Bellaroussi, I.Najah, D.Fettouhi, A.Barrada, O.El Kaddouri, H.Kharja, R.Frikeche, M.Bemammer, Z.Labyad, N.Amrabat, S.Bidaoui, S.El Hassnaoui, A.Tighadouini
Group D is likely to centre around the battle between two teams; Spain and Japan.
Spain haven't competed at the Olympics for 12 years, a surprise considering the wealth of talent their country posesses. Like their national side, La Roja have repeatedly failed to impress on the World stage, but now their main team have won the World Cup and European Championships, is it time for their U-23 team to do the same at the Olympics? The squad itself is overflowing with talent, only rivalled by Brazil. David De Gea will be likely to start in goal, while the relentless energy of Cesar Azpilicueta, the passing prowess of Ander Herrera and finishing of Adrian Lopez will provide a solid core to the team. The inclusion of Jordi Alba only serves as a world class selection and he could tear apart teams with his pace.
The biggest threat to Spain will be the Japanese side. They dominated the Asian qualifying leg without a handful of their main European stars. They are a determined side with attacking flair and a very high level of precision. Key players will be Hiroki Sakai, Takahashi Usami and Yuki Otsu.
Honduras have only played at the Olympics on a few occasions, never getting past the Group Stage. Key players for El Tri will be Johnny Leveron, Maynor Figueroa, Roger Espinoza and Eddie Hernandez.
Morocco have failed to many a significant impact at any Olympics they have participated in. Coach Pim Verbeek tends to use players that ply their trade outside of Morocco, which has achieved some success for his side. Ther progression will be likely to depend on Abdelaziz Barrada, Driss Fettouhi and Adnane Tighadouini.
Therefore, we think the qualification stage itself will be fairly easy to predict. Team GB and Uruguay will be the two likely progressers from Group A, with Uruguay in top spot.
Group B is tough to predict, due to its close nature. We expect South Korea and Switzerland to be the ones who eventually progress however Gabon could be one to watch as a possible surprise wildcard.
When you look at Group C, the winner is obvious, we expect Brazil to win all three games, however second place is a tougher choice. Egypt's previous experience should be enough to see them through.
Finally, Group D is an easy choice. Spain and Japan should have too much class for Honduras and Morocco and therefore, will progress.
The Gold Medal winner is much harder to predict, however, on paper, we expect the final to be contested between Spain and Brazil. This is largely due to the sheer quality of their squads and the depth of their reserves.
What is certain is that the tournament will be a fantastic spectacle and a showcasing of young talent possibly yet to make its mark on the world stage. Could the next global star be ready to make his mark at these Games?
We look forward to seeing the tournament take shape over the next week and will provide reviews and summaries of goings on around the nation's top stadiums.
There are a few stipulations with regard to the age of the squad players. The players selected must be under the age of 23, with three players over that age allowed to supplement the young squad.

Cash in the Capital
For years, Paris Saint-Germain have been a bit-part team. There's been some good years, some bad and some near catastophic. Founded in 1970, making them a fairly young club, they started life in Division Two. Immediate success was their prize and they were celebrating their first birthday with a place in the French top flight. The club then split, and PSG was formed as an amateur club in Division Three. They won consecutive promotions and by the 73/74 season, they were once again, in Division One. They waited over a decade for their first league title in 1986, but then endured a stop-start few years as their next league crown came in 1994. Since then, they have not won the Ligue 1 competitin again and, despite numerous Cup successes, they now have a hunger greater than ever before to make their way back to the top.
The last 10 years have brought hard times. They have often found themselves in trouble and were nearly relegated in the 2006/07 season, eventually finishing 15th. Fluctuating levels of performance and a squad quality that went up and down like a yoyo have contributed to give little for the fans to shout about.
However, 2011 brought a new opportunity. A foreign tide arrived in Paris as the Qatar Investment Authority bought a 30% share in the club, effectively making them the majority stakeholders. With an estimated asset pool of $60billion, it was easy to see what could happen here. Their pledge was simple...
To build a club that would dominate domestically, and win the UEFA Champions League.
Numbers started to be thrown around like it was child's pay. Parting with large sums of cash seemed like a drop in the ocean for these hard hitting Qataris.
During the 2011/12 season, the Paris outfit were transformed as the Qatari owners acquired what was virtually a whole team. In the Summer transfer window, players arrived from all areas as Javier Pastore, Kevin Gameiro, Jeremy Menez, Mohamed Sissoko, Blaise Matuidi, Milan Bisevac, Salvatore Sirigu and Diego Lugano all came in. Pastore himself cost the new owners a huge 43million Euros, by far a French record. Along with all these playing staff, came a new coach, the widely admired Carlo Ancelotti was appointed as the manager to guide the new team to success.
The January transfer season arrived, and brought with it yet more new faces with Alex, Thiago Motta and Maxwell all being brought in. This huge investment of 108million Euros lead the team to a title challenging season, ultimately being pipped to top spot by the surprise package of Montpellier.
Nevertheless, the close call only served as motivation, and, having qualified for the Champions League qualifying stages, the investment train continued to chug. World class names were mentioned as being linked with PSG; the likes of Pato, Van Persie, Hulk, Suarez and Dani Alves have all been touted. Even an outlandish move for Wayne Rooney was reported by certain tabloids. However, so far, three have been suposedly acquired.
Their first signing of the summer came with Ezequiel Lavezzi making his 30million Euros move, then, was the finishing of the Thiago Silva saga as he completed his transfer from AC Milan for a staggering 42million Euros. Thus making him the most expensive defender ever. In addition to this, the expected transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, also from AC Milan, means they are undoubted to be the biggest spenders this Summer, and they might not be done!
It is surely scary to think for the big clubs of Europe that these investors seem to be willing to pay any money for the players they desire. PSG's team next season could be staggering and packed with not only quality but also young talent.
Here is a possible side for their 2012/13 season:
Sirigu/Areola, Jallet/Maxwell, Sakho/Lugano, T.Silva/Bisevac/Alex, Chantome/Sissoko, Matuidi/Bodmer, Menez, Pastore/Motta, Lavezzi/Nene, Ibrahimovic/Gameiro/Hoarau
As you can see, they have plenty of strength in depth, and their plans to add more to that squad could make it a challenger for European and Domestic honours. Their two young keepers are good enough to play right now and their potential for the future means they could be around for a long time. Watch out for France U19 International Alphonse Areola this season. In defence, they are solid, and the star signing of the world-class Thiago Silva will only aid this, they also bring a big goal scoring threat from the back.
The midfield is the centrepiece of the side, with two more laid back players in Chantome and Matuidi likely to start, they will enable the attacking three of Menez, Pastore and Lavezzi to push forward more often. This will provide a fantastic standard of service for the clinical finishing power of the imperial Ibrahimovic, while still providing some goals themselves.
A prediction for this season is relatively easy. They will be the stand out favourites to win the French title and most likely will. They will be included in the third pot of seeds for the Champions League draw, meaning they could face a group with two European giants. Therefore their chances of qualifying for the next stage may be slim as the team continues to gel together. A place in the Europa League may be the best they can hope for and if so, they could easily challenge for that title.
What is certain is that PSG will be a very popular choice for gamers worldwide in their quest for virtual success.

Arsenal's Agony
Just a few months ago Arsenal appeared to have it all. They were winning consistently, 4th in the league after a shambolic start, one of the most prolific striker the league has ever seen and Henry was back in town, albeit for a short time.
Now we see a different story- Robin Van Persie has stated he will not sign another contract with Arsenal and Arsenal fans crumbled, just se the reaction of Piers Morgan on Twitter. Yes they had signed Podolski and Giroud but how would they survive the PL without their former God? Add to this misery that if RVP leaves, then another big name might leave- Theo Walcott, after having such a sterling Euros has said that if RVP leaves then he is likely to follow.
RVPs statement has alerted huge names in world football- Manchester City, Juventus and AC Milan are all interested. RVP may not have scored nor created every goal for Arsenal but no one can deny that when the Dutchman plays, Arsenals spirits lift.
Another problem the Gunners face is the lack of quality Gervinho has shown on the Arsenal wing throughout last season- have they signed another Arshavin? Unless he picks up his game it appears they just might have. But until he proves otherwise Gervinho does not warrant a starting position next season especially with young Chamberlain containing so much potential.
Keeping with the failed transfer scene- two centre backs that were meant to complement Vermaelen and restore some solidity to Arsenal have failed miserably. Squillaci and Mertesacker all came relatively unheard of and therefore many were shocked by relatively large transfer fees paid by Wenger. Neither have provided solidity and both quickly found their way to the bench. The only centre that looks capable of turning into a Premier League centre back is Koscielny, but fans and Wenger are relying on a swift increase in quality off the Frenchman. It is probable that Wenger will look to sell the likes of Chamakh, Djourou, Squillaci and Bendtner to fund extra transfers. Chamakh himself has been linked with a move to Fiorentina.
To compound Arsenal and England fans woes Jack Wilshere has still not recovered from the injury that rule him out of almost all of last season. He will miss the start of this year's campaign. This is another major blow as when he plays Arsenal gain a young creative edge. Can Arsenal rely on Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arteta and Podolski next season? Or are they in trouble? In our opinion Wenger needs to invest in a centre back capable of matching Vermaelen. Another attacking midfielder and a winger to be able to compete without RVP and Walcott. But to many fans, Arsenal may have lost a God.

Double trouble - Changes in Milan
Storm clouds rose at the San Siro in May as both Milan teams were beaten to the Serie A trophy by Juventus. Milan finished 2nd, whereas Inter has a horrible season, finishing 6th and they would have to Qualify for the Europa League. Up until the 13th week of the season, they were 16th in the League. Three managerial changes later, they revived their season to gain a spot in Europe, if only the lesser of the two competitions.
However, the end of the season came and neither club was happy. Both squads were ageing and Milan Club President Silvil Berlusconi wanted change. Despite finishing 2nd, Inter had beaten Milan twice in Serie A in 2012 and their season relied largely on the goalscoring form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
So, change is considered as a priority for both clubs. For Milan, the old guard of Gattuso and Seedorf were the first to go, with Gattuso signing for FC Sion of Switzerland and Seedorf moving to Brazil with Botafogo. This was followed by Alessandro Nesta, Gianluca Zambrotta, Filippo Inzaghi, Massimo Oddo, Flavio Roma and Mark van Bommel who will move back to Holland with PSV Eindhoven.
In addition to this, a trimming of the squad was carried out, with fringe players being let go. Maxi Lopez's loan deal from Catania came to an end and youngster Dominic Adiyiah moved to Arsenal Kyiv.
Mathieu Flamini was told that he would be able to leave, however, it now appears as if the former Arsenal man will stay for atleast another season.
The situation of Milan was summarised by Adriano Galliani's unwillingness to pay a large sum of money for Alberto Aquilani, instead looking for another loan deal, and even requesting that Liverpool release him from his contract so that Aquilani was available for free.
With so many players leaving, they had to bring some in, and they did immediately. Riccardo Montolivo has been their most notable signing. The midfielder, who has had a fantastic Euro 2012, was signed from Fiorentina on a free transfer. Aswell as this, Bakaye Traore arrived from Nancy and Sulley Muntari was signed on a permanent deal, both for free.
Players continue to arrive, Kevin Constant (Genoa) and Francesco Acerbi (Chievo) also arrived recently with Constant on loan. The actual quality of these replacements can be argued, Montolivo is a good player, evidenced by his Euro 2012. But the rest will not cause any fear for an opposition, and after last season, that is what they need.
However, current squad members continue to be linked with moves away. Alexandre Pato was virtually non-existent last year, mainly through injury. He has since been linked with a move away from the club, possibly to big spending PSG. Aswell as Pato, Thiago Silva had previously stalled over new contract talks, demanding higher wages, but then, in came the predatory PSG and snapped him up for an astounding 42million euros. This makes the Brazilian the most expensive defender of all time. In addition to this, Silva look like he will be park of a double transfer with PSG also expected to take star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic away from the Rossoneri. This will be a huge blow to them.
Even Robinho, the Brazilian forward, has been rumoured to be moving away. Last season was not a good one for him and he could make way for another signing. These activities are causing murmurs of unrest among the Rossoneri. This unrest could be categorised by the supposed reduction of Muntari's wages after he suffered an injury playing beach football on holiday. He will be out of action for a portion of the new season, this lead Galliani into rage and he has reportedly told Muntari that he will have his wages decreased by a third!
As you can see, an entire team can be made from the players that have left Milan:
Roma, Oddo, T.Silva, Nesta, Zambrotta, Gattuso, Seedorf, Van Bommel, Aquilani, Inzaghi, Ibrahimovic
Milan's Possible starting XI 2012/13 (with current squad)
Gabriel/Abbiati/Amelia, Vila/Antonini, Acerbi/Yepes, Mexes/Bonera, Abate/De Sciglio, Ambrosini/Strasser/Traore, Montolivo/Emanuelson, Nocerino/Muntari, Boateng/Constant, Robinho/El Shaarawy, Pato/Cassano
At Inter, wholesale changes are also in the offing. Old heads such as Lucio and Ivan Cordoba are already history, with the former on his way to rivals Juventus. Diego Forlan is off to Internacional (Brazil) and the signing of Samir Handanovic from Udinese will be likely to pave the way for the exit of Julio Cesar. In addition to these losses, Sulley Muntari made his loan move to AC Milan permanent, as did Goran Pandev to Napoli and Mauro Zarate returned to Lazio after a disaster or a campaign.
In terms of signings, Rodrigo Palacio (Genoa) and Fredy Guarin (Porto) are two solid acquisitions, as is Matias Silvestre from Palermo. However, surely if they are to challenge again this year, they will need much more. Sneijder is ageing, as is Cambiasso and the youngsters coming through arent good enough just yet.
Rumours are abounding all over Europe of players that are supposedly targets for both clubs. The silly season couldn't be a more apt name for these two clubs. Murmurs of AC Milan being interested in Andy Carroll and Robin Van Persie, and Inter Milan wanting Demba Ba have been just a few of those seen so far.
What is certain is that if the two San Siro outfits are to chalenge Juventus this year, they will need to up their game. The 'Old Lady' have strengthened yet again, making quality signings all over the park. Already, they have secured the services of the likes of Giovinco, Caceres, Isla, Asamoah and Lucio, and are also being linked with Van Persie.
Our predictions for this Serie A season therefore, are simple. Juventus will be very tough to beat, and so are our favourites to retain their title. AC Milan will be the biggest challengers, they will recognise their current squad is not strong enough and sign one or two big names. Udinese have lost players and Napoli's three prized assets are being targeted by most of Europe! This means AC Milan should have a clear run to 2nd place. Internazionale may struggle, their old heads are not getting younger and Sneijder doesn't seem to have the same form as he did a couple of years ago. They will battle for the Champions League place but will fail to achieve it.

Player Watch - Iker Muniain
Messi- a player of grace, intelligence, ball-control and a lethal left foot. Surely no one can even come close to being compared to the 25 year-old best player in the world from Argentina?...and yet, there is one man who has already begun to show that maybe Spain can have Messi...or perhaps even better?
Age 19 and this young man already has the accolade 'the Spanish Messi'. What an accolade, and this young winger from Bilbao is proving it every game. Iker Muniain the name, remember it. Everyone will know it in a few years.

He made his debut in 2009 for Athletic Bilbao aged 16 years old. Clearly this boy was going to be class? After 2 seasons playing on Bilbao's left wing creating and scoring goals Muniain is now a solid starter or Bilbao and has already attained a cap for the senior Spanish National side. A very consistent player, Muniain sprints up and down the left wing, cutting in and curling crosses in for the likes of Llorente to finish. Bilbao could always rely on Muniain to be available, his record with regard to injuries is impeccable.
This talent was shown off when potential suitors Manchester United came to town- it'd be fair to say that the left wing was firm Bilbao territory, a constant threat to the United defence most attacks came from the left flank. Sir Alex Ferguson could only watch and unwittingly admire his team be ripped apart by this young man.
Bilbao endured a successful season due to a large contribution from Muniain taking the attention of any opposition and thanks to this Bilbao acheived the Europa league final.
Thanks to this success Muniain has attracted interest from all over Europe, mainly Barcelona, Manchester United/City, Liverpool and Chelsea all in the mix.
Muniain, a young player with bags of potential but is this man Spain's answer to Messi?

Euro 2012 - Team of the Tournament
After a fantastic Euro 2012 tournament, in which so many players impressed individually, we have picked our team of the tournament...
Starting XI - Casillas, J.Pereira, Hummels, Ramos, J.Alba, Iniesta, Moutinho, Pirlo, Xavi, Ronaldo, Balotelli
Subs - Patricio, Pique, Coentrao, Ozil, Gerrard, Fabregas, Gomez
Iker Casillas - The most consistent keeper at the championships. He conceded only 1 goal throughout the whole Tournament, with help from the Spanish defence and expelled class and organisation from the back of the Spanish tournament winning side. Capping the tournament with his 100th International win shows the sheer class of this man.
Joao Pereira - Closely run by Federico Balzaretti, We have chosen the Portugal star on his way to Valencia in the new season. Pereira has a fantastic tournament. He was a constant threat up the Portuguese right flant, suplementing Nani is his attacks. Added to this was his competence in defence and good positional awareness making him our obvious selection.
Mats Hummels - A number of players could have been given this spot, however, despite an under par final game, we give the slot to Hummels. He had a strong tournament, being a calm presence in a sometimes hectic German defence. Often not helped by the positional flaws of Holger Badstuber and Jerome Boateng, Hummels had to hold the defence together with Philipp Lahm and did so well.
Sergio Ramos - Ramos had a sumptuous tournament. From his defensive prowess and power, to his attacking flair and penalty taking class. It had it all. He even threw in a few powerful attempts on goal from long range free kicks, that didnt go too far past the target. You got the impression he would feel at home virtually anywhere on the pitch.
Jordi Alba - Possibly the find of the tournament. He came in as a small time player in the Spanish squad of Galacticos and blossomed into a big name, thanks in no part to his timely transfer to Barcelona. Solid in defence (conceding 1 goal) and dazzling in attack, he had an all round game. This was summarised by his goal to make it 2-0 in the final.
Andres Iniesta - The layer of the tournment, beating Pirlo overall. Spain's midfield maestro continues to rule Europe. His passing accuracy, flair and creativity was rivalled maybe only by his team mate Xavi and the Italian's Pirlo. Repeatedly picking out eye of a needle passes that changed games. Another great set of games for the 28 year old. He will feature at the World Cup of 2014.
Joao Moutinho - Another lesser recognised player with a good tournament. Moutinho often ran the Portuguese midfield with a passing style similar to that of his Spanish neighbours. He created a couple of goals and had a hand in more.
Andrea Pirlo - Close to the player of the Tournament. Until the final, not one team could get near him, he had the freeom of the pitch and used it to great success. Teams often failed to close his space, meaning he passed and dplayed teams to death. A quiet final against Spain wasn't enough to put his place in jeopardy. His tournament was summarised by his goal from a free kick during the Croatia game.
Xavi - The partner in crime to Andres Iniesta joins his Amigo in our team. He is still one of the greatest midfielders in the world and showed this throughout the championships. His two assists in the Final itself were possibly enough to secure his place, such was the quality, however, he was good in each game, rarely making mistakes and often passing sides until they became too tired to resist. His appearance at World Cup 2014 will depend largely on his fitness over the next 2 years.
Cristiano Ronaldo - After a quiet start by his standards, his championships came to life and he ended at the joint top scorer with 3 goals. He clearly showed his ability to win a game by himself, at times looking like Portugal's only goal scoring threat just as others such as Hugo Almeida floundered. Even his lack of a penalty in the Semi Final is not enough to lose him his place in the side.
Mario Balotelli - This is by far the most controversial choice. However, we believe it is justified, as not only did Mario score the goals, he also played with passion and commitment, often something not associated with the Manchester City star. His work rate in most of Italy's games improved tenfold from his Premier League performances and he lit up the Semi Final against Germany with two world class finishes. His commitment to the team was plain to see, and for these reasons, he makes our team
Subs -
Patricio - made some fantastic saves, only beaten by Casillas' near perfect record.
Pique - pipped to the post by Hummels but had a very good tournament.
Coentrao - good in defence and pacy in attack only beaten by the brilliance of Alba
Ozil - good tournament in the main however went missing on some vital ocasions (Semi Final)
Gerrard - England's best player and made numerous assists, didn't progess far enough
Fabregas - beaten to the starting team by his own compatriots
Gomez - scored goals, but contributed little else in terms of a defensive effort or teamwork.
Special Mentions (for consideration) - Neuer, Piszczek, Pepe, Arbeloa, Balzaretti, Lahm, Lescott, Modric, Schweinsteiger, Alonso, Montolivo, Marchisio, De Rossi, Blaszczykowski, Dzagoev, Ibrahimovic, Lewandowski

Euro 2012 - Spain vs Italy - Final Preview
After 30 matches, 72 goals and over 46 hours of Football, Euro 2012 comes to a climax tonight as Spain clash with Italy. The Italians have been called so many things at this tournament; Brave, Passionate, Driven, Focused, but, as a rarity has it been noted that they have infact played some of the best football, on occasion, better than the likes of Spain and Germany. Therefore, it should be no surprise that they habe made the final of this prestigious tournament.
The build up to the match will be fanatic. Pundits will rave about the sheer magic that has been Andrea Pirlo's tournament, and will talk at length about whether Spain are correct to not play a recognised striker. For English viewers, expect Gary Lineker or Adrian Chiles to quip about Del Bosque's selections or try and lighten the mood with a joke.
The game itself will be a close one, Italy have not conceded first in any of their games so far, whereas the Spanish defence has been mean, conceding only 1 goal thus far in their progression to the Final. That goal came in their first game, against Italy. However, nerves may be a factor after their horrendous World Cup campaign. Spain meanwhile, have no reason to be so nervous, they are on the cusp of a major championship treble and are no longer 'the under-achievers'
The opening group game between the two sides was also a close affair, finishing 1-1 after two goals in a frenetic 5 minute period. Since that game, both sides have improved as they have settled into the tournament. Therefore the team selections in what is expected to be such a tight game will be vital.
Here is how we expect the two sides to line up:
For Italy, the team will remain the same, afterall, no changes are needed. Their performance in the Semi Final was one of a complete nature, any changes would be foolish. We think Abate is unlikely to start after missing the last game. Balzaretti was in good form.
We expect Spain to continue with their controversial plan of playing without a recognised striker, it is likely that David Silva or possibly Cesc Fabregas will play as the 'False 9' for Del Bosque's side. This position focuses on the appearance of starting as a striker, but then dropping back to pick up the ball around the midfield. Silva and Fabregas will be likely to alternate in this position.
There wil be a monumental battle in midfield. Both midfields have been world class so far this tournament. The guile of Italy's Pirlo and co. against the passing calibre of Xavi and his mates. The Italians won't be able to rely on the ball straight up the middle of the defence. They exploited this against Germany, but the Spanish defence are compact, structured and organised, they will be a lot harder to break down.
The Italy defence showed their calibre against Germany, making good decisions at vital times. The Spanish formation and style will test them, however, it has been said that Spain don't quite create enough chances for the amount of posession they have. In terms of attack, Spain will be supplemented in their attacking moves by Jordi Alba and Alvaro Arbeloa making runs up either flank. Alba has had a dream tournament and Arbeloa has also been impressive, they might create issues for Balzaretti and Chiellini when combined with the Spanish midfield.
Both keepers have been in top form so far, the age old experience of Buffon continues to dazzle as he pulls of good saves regularly and at important times. Casillas appears to have been playing for decades, yet he still has a good few years left in him. Should penalties be needed to decide this match, it will be tough to beat these two.
Italy's two strikers have been very sharp as of late, Cassano the provider, Balotelli the finisher, they have been in top form. Balotelli has been making good runs off the last man and in behind the opposition defence, while still tracking back fairly often with a new-found hunger that Manchester City faithful will be hoping makes the flight to Manchester with him after the tournament. He and Cassano may cause some issues for the Spanish Centre-Back partnership if the likes of Pirlo and Montolivo can find the right passes. However, Spain have only conceded 12 shots on target in ALL of their games at Euro 2012 so far, therefore, they will have to be at their best.
Spain will need to watch Pirlo closely, he has been given too much time on the ball so far and it has been paying off for him. Busquets and Alonso will be there to do this job and could have an effect of the fluidity of Pirlo's game.
Late in the game, substitituons may prove to be a key factor in who wins this game. The Spanish have Pedro, the enthusiastic Barcelona wide man, he will add a zip to the play and cause infinite problems with his pace. Added to this is the forgotten man, Fernando Torres. Will he be involved? Could he come on to make a vital contribution ashe most unlikely of heroes?
With regard to Italy, Diamanti and Di Natale are both attacking options. Diamanti has looked sharp in his appearances off the bench and Di Natale could be useful if they are chasing the game. In midfield, Antonio Nocerino could replace one of the midfield four should they become tired or ineffective. He has a good passing game and is often a lively character.
The Result? It will be a very tense affair, close in the first half as nerves take their time to dissipate. Towards the end of the first half, the game may open up a bit more. Spain have kept 9 straight clean sheets in knocout Football, however we fancy Italy to nick a goal. The second half will mean an opening up of the game and more chances will be created. However, it may take Extra Time to separate thw two sides.
Prediction: Spain 2-1 Italy (AET)
